Dr. Ashraf El-Araby
Dr. Ashraf El-Araby is a distinguished Egyptian economist and development planner. He previously served as Minister of Planning, Follow-up, and Administrative Reform of Egypt and currently holds the position of President of the National Institute for Planning in Cairo.
He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Kansas State University in the United States, following his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Economics from Cairo University.
Dr. El-Araby is recognized for his expertise in national planning, economic policy, and administrative reform. He has contributed to the formulation of Egypt’s development strategies and national performance measurement frameworks.
He is also a Board Member of the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA), where he plays an active role in strengthening governance and oversight of Egypt’s non-banking financial sector, promoting transparency and sustainable economic growth.
